Corn Nitrate Sampling Instructions
Are you submitting a corn silage sample for nitrate testing? Please read the following instructions on how to collect the sample.
• RRL recommends that you collect your sample at the time of harvest
• If you are sampling before you harvest, please include approximately 3-4 plants that have been cut at least 6 inches above the root- do not include the root.
• Plants must be chopped up and homogenized before you submit them
• Include enough of the sample to fill a regular-sized sandwich bag
• Mark “Nitrate” on the feed sample submission form, as well as any other analysis you wish to have performed
** If you plan to ship the sample rather than deliver it in person, please freeze the sample beforehand.
Pre-paid UPS shipping labels are available on our website. If you have any other questions you may submit them to office@rockriverlab.com or call 920-261-0446.
