Donald Meyer - President

Don is a 1975 graduate from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and Milwaukee. He is an original founder of the National Alfalfa Hay Testing Association (now known as National Forage Testing Association) and served as chairman of that group. He is the past director of the Midwest Lab Consortium and the only private industry member of the USDA-NIR Forage Network.

Aside from administrative responsibilities at the lab, Don develops NIR calibrations and works with customer service.
Dustin Sawyer - Lab Director

In 2004 Dustin received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point where he majored in Soil Science and minored in Chemistry. He is currently enrolled in the University of Wisconsin working toward a Master’s degree in Soil Science. Dustin is a member of the Soil and Water Conservation Society, Soil Science Society of America, American Society of Agronomy, and the Crop Science Society of America. He is also board member for the Soil and Plant Analysis Council.
Zachery Meyer - Vice President, Customer Service

Zac is a 2007 graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee where he focused his studies on communications and business. He has worked for RRL in some capacity since he was 12 years old, joining as a full time employee in 2007. With over 10 years of customer service and sales experience, Zac is happy to assist you with any questions or concerns regarding any services offered at Rock River Laboratory.
Dr. John Goeser PhD, PAS - Dir. of Nutritional Research and Innovation

John Goeser grew up in the dairy industry, with roots in his family’s 1000-cow dairy near Plymouth, WI. John studied Agronomy and Dairy Science at the University of Wisconsin and earned M.S. degrees in both Plant Breeding & Plant Genetics and Dairy Science, then earned his PhD in Dairy Nutrition. John worked with dairies as a technical dairy and forage consultant prior to joining Rock River Lab.
Lauren Meyer - Forage Lab Supervisor

Lauren is a 2007 graduate from UW Milwaukee, she has been working for our lab for over 10 years. She began her work at Rock River helping in the soils department, in 2008 Lauren switched to working in the feed and forage. Lauren is now the forage lab supervisor. She will be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns.
Courtney Heuer - Forage Lab Supervisor

Courtney is a 2011 graduate of the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities where she received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Animal Science and a minor in Applied Economics. She grew up on a dairy farm in central Minnesota and has always had a strong interest in agriculture. She is currently enrolled in the University of Wisconsin - Madison working towards her Master's degree in Dairy Nutrition.
Andy Berner - Soil Lab Supervisor

Andy Berner has been part of the Rock River Lab team since 2008. Andy graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point with a bachelor’s of Science, majoring in Waste and Soil Resources. When he first joined RRL Andy worked as a crop scout, and then became part of the soil-sampling team. Andy has been in the soil lab for over 4 years, and is an essential part of the soils department.
Scott Fleming CCA, TSP - Soil Sampling Coordinator; NMP Specialist

Meet Scott Fleming, Soil Sampling Coordinator and Nutrient Management Specialist for Rock River Lab. Scott is a 2004 graduate of UW Stevens Point with a degree in Soil and Land Management. Scott specializes in site-specific soil sampling (grid sampling) and VRT applications. During the winter months he writes nutrient management plans for growers throughout Wisconsin. He and his family reside in Johnstown, WI where they raise Berkshire hogs and grow cash crops. Scott is the first generation of his family to enter the Ag industry.
Randy Busch CCA, TSP - Nutrient Management Specialist

Randy received his Bachelor of Science in Soil Science from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point in 1991. Previously worked as an agronomist, precision farming coordinator, and soil laboratory director. Randy is a certified crop advisor with extensive experience in writing Nutrient Management Plans (NMP) and Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMP). He works closely with confined animal feeding operations (CAFO) with or in process of obtaining Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) permits.
Matt Luther CCA, TSP - Nutrient Management Specialist

Matt is a 1995 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. Matt has experience in nutrient management planning pertaining to USDA programs and county ordinances, crop diagnostics, soil test recommendations, crop budgets, pesticide and fertilizer recommendations and inventory management.
Jen Biscoe CCA, TSP - Nutrient Management Specialist

Jen graduated in 2000 from the UW-River Falls with a B.S. in Agronomy with previous experience as an Agronomist and Precision Ag Coordinator at Larsen Coop. She is a Certified Crop Advisor, NRCS-USDA Technical Service Provider & Wisconsin NRCS Recognized Comprehensive Nutrient Management Planner. In addition to writing Nutrient Management Plans, she has experience with GPS Soil Sampling, Variable Rate Fertilizer Recommendations and GPS Equipment with Ag Leader, Trimble and the Family of Precision Planting Products, including planting and yield monitors, guidance, clutch & boom control.
Jackie Naatz - Office Manager, Customer Service

Jackie Naatz came to Rock River Laboratory, Inc. in 1999 with 20 years wholesale agronomy experience. She is one of the office people most likely to answer your phone calls to the lab. She will be able to help you with any questions regarding sample status, ordering of supplies or billing concerns. Jackie is dedicated to provide excellent service to our customers.
Doug Arterburn - Project Manager, Information Technology

Doug is a native of Iowa and has been writing computer programs for the lab since 1979. In 2006, he became a fulltime Rock River Lab employee. Although he has an important sounding title, one he picked out himself, we just think of him as the computer guy. Doug has 30 years of experience in the computer industry and is dedicated to ensuring that computer technology increases productivity and efficiency for Rock River Lab and our customers. He is most likely to handle your questions about such tasks as accessing your reports via www.rockriverlab.com, entering Soil Information Sheets on our website, and generating custom report formats. Don't hesitate to call him with ideas on features to add or change on our website.
Larry McRoberts - Customer Service Representative

Larry McRoberts is a full-time resident Strum, Wisconsin, but travels all over Wisconsin for RRL. He earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Agricultural Education from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls and has worked 41 years in the feed and agronomy business. Ron Pahlow - Customer Service Representative

Ron Pahlow has worked in agriculture since 1959, and has been a Sales and Marketing Representative for Rock River Laboratory since 2000. He has had a wealth of experience in agriculture; including DHI supervisor, owning a Curtis A.I. franchise, feed ration advisor, and as a supervisor of on farm salespersons. Ron is very happy to use his wealth of experience to help you in selecting the ideal feed sampling program, and in interpreting any feed testing concerns that you or your customers may have.
