**NEW LIME REQUIREMENT CALCULATIONS**

Starting February 15th, 2007, all Wisconsin certified soil-testing labs are required to use new lime requirement calculations.  The new calculations are part of the 2007 revision of the UW Extension publication A-2809, Nutrient Application Guidelines for Field, Vegetable, and Fruit Crops.  In addition to the new calculation, soil labs are required to replace the SMP buffer with the new, safer, Sikora buffer.  This means that buffer pH results prior to February 15th, 2007 cannot be used in the new calculations.  For more information on this change, please click here for answers to frequently asked questions.
